Prevention and Treatment of Wastewater in Industrial Production

September 30, 2025

Project groundwater pollution sources and prevention measures:
  1. Leakage of sewage treatment facilities and prevention measures

    The project has a sewage treatment station. The main pollutants in the production wastewater are pH, CODcr, SS, total copper, and cyanide. The leakage of wastewater in the sewage treatment tank will cause certain pollution to the groundwater quality.At present, the construction unit has carried out anti-corrosion and anti-seepage treatment on each wastewater treatment pool, so the project wastewater will not leak and pollute the groundwater;

  2. Leakage, bubbling, dripping and prevention measures of equipment and pipelines in production workshops

    When equipment or pipelines such as the developing line, etching line, film stripping line, micro-etching and anti-oxidation line, electroplating line and copper deposition line in the production workshop leak, they will seep into the ground through the workshop floor and cause certain pollution to the groundwater quality.The project has carried out anti-corrosion and anti-seepage treatment on the floor of the production workshop. At the same time, an anti-pollution ditch is set up outside the factory building, and anti-corrosion and anti-seepage measures are taken on the anti-pollution ditch. When the leakage is large, it is led to the wastewater accident pool (with anti-corrosion and anti-seepage measures), so as to avoid seepage into the ground and polluting the groundwater. The raw liquid and wastewater will enter the anti-pollution ditch and be introduced into the wastewater accident pool for temporary storage, and gradually introduce wastewater treatment, and be discharged after the treatment facilities meet the standards.

  3. Chemical Leakage and Prevention Measures in the Chemical Warehouse

    The project's dedicated chemical warehouse primarily stores etching solutions, micro-etching antioxidant solutions, developer solutions, and electroplating solutions. All raw materials are stored in plastic barrels. Under normal circumstances, leakage and groundwater contamination are unlikely. However, if a leak occurs, the liquid raw materials will seep into the ground, potentially polluting the groundwater. Furthermore, leaks generate accident treatment wastewater (for floor cleaning), which will seep into the ground and potentially contaminate the groundwater. Anti-corrosion and anti-seepage measures have been implemented on the project walls and floors. A pollution prevention ditch has been installed outside the warehouse, and anti-flow measures have been implemented in the drainage ditch.

  4. Leakage Risks and Prevention Measures for Hazardous Waste Storage
    • Wastewater Treatment Sludge:
      Currently, the construction unit packages this sludge in bags and stores it on the ground. As the sludge contains moisture with the same composition as the wastewater, prolonged storage could lead to moisture leakage. This leaked liquid may infiltrate the ground and contaminate groundwater.

    • Liquid Chemical Wastes (Developer, Stripping, Micro-etching, Antioxidant, Electroless Copper, Etching, Electroplating):
      These liquid wastes are stored in dedicated barrels by the construction unit and generally do not leak. However, in the event of a leak, any spilled liquid could seep into the ground, posing a risk of groundwater pollution.

    • Leak Response & Prevention Measures:
      Spill response activities may generate contaminated wash water. To address this, the project has implemented a drainage collection system. Both leaked chemicals and incident response wastewater will be directed to the project's emergency wastewater containment pool. This critical measure effectively prevents these liquids from infiltrating the soil and contaminating groundwater.
